Vermaelen agent sure of Gunners deal

Thomas Vermaelen's agent is confident a deal to take the Ajax defender to Barclays Premier League giants Arsenal will soon take place.

The 23-year-old Belgian is currently on holiday but agent Sjaak Swart claims he will soon sit down for discussions with the Gunners.

"It's more a question of when than one of if it will take place," Swart told Ajaxlife.nl.

A £10million fee has reportedly been agreed between the clubs for Vermaelen, who has a contract with Ajax until June 2012.

Then bring in sharp strikers and calculative­ defenders in, that is all Arsenal needs to do now. They­ can be wasting time pricing every player when they­ know what should have been done.   3. i think we should sell ade for the right price good­ player just heart not really in it,silvestre will prob­ rerire dis season nd he was there wen needed so let him­ stay,buy yaya toure, get dzenko. i agree we need to get­ everyone early to play together (hopefully eduardo wont­ be injured same with rosicky)

  11. We need all the transfer deals to take place well­ before the start of next season. We must have a settled­ side, otherwise the team will not perform at the very­ start (and look at what happened last year) too many­ games lost or drawn because the team were un settled.­ We had Ade talking about moving and injuries etc. So,­ lets get the deals done soon and have the squad train­ together before the start of 09/10 season
