Bantams head queue for Boulding

Wed 16 Jul, 10:15 AM

Bradford City are in pole position to sign Michael Boulding after the frontman held talks with Bantams boss Stuart McCall on Tuesday. The 32-year-old has a whole host of clubs chasing his signature after his refusal to sign a new deal with relegated Mansfield.

Lincoln, Grimsby and Rotherham have all made offers to Boulding, but the former Aston Villa striker was at Valley Parade on Tuesday to speak with McCall and his assistant Wayne Jacobs.

And the frontrunner who netted 25 goals for the Stags last season is set to get a run-out when the Bantams start their pre-season action on Wednesday night away at Farsley.

Boulding's younger brother Rory, 19, is also set to feature with the winger hoping to earn a deal to play alongside Michael at Valley Parade next season.

Goalkeeper Nick Colgan will play at Throstle Nest (kick-off 7.30pm) as he looks to earn a deal as City's number one stopper and Graeme Lee, Paul McLaren and Paul Arnison will also feature.

Bradford-born midfielder Chris Brandon is likely to miss out after picking up a minor calf problem.
