MK Dons academy director Mike Dove has high hopes that his current crop of youngsters will be able to force their way into the first team.Adam Chicksen, 16, and David King, 17, have already caught the eye of new boss Roberto Di Matteo in pre-season and Dove is keen for his recruits to step up to first-team duties during the new campaign.

"The new management team have come across as a really decent group of people and have taken an early interest in the Academy," Dove told the club's official website.

"I spoke with the gaffer and he said if the potential is there among certain players they will be pushed on."
