Wed 16 Jul, 06:45 PM

Nathan Ellington hopes his first domestic appearance for Derby will present the chance to demonstrate his goalscoring prowess to the fans.Ellington is set to start Wednesday evening's friendly at Burton, County's first pre-season game on home soil ahead of the forthcoming campaign.

The 27-year-old played most of last week's match in Holland against Top Oss and, like any new striker at a club, is eager to get off the mark.

"Obviously I have come here to score goals. I love scoring goals whether it is on the training pitch or in a game," Ellington told the club's official website. "I just want to score as many goals as I can, when I can.

"It was disappointing not to win the game last week. We didn't play particularly well as we are not used to each other yet.

"We are hoping to go into the Burton game and enjoy ourselves first and foremost, improve our fitness levels, get a win and for myself I'll be hoping to score a goal."
