Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has completed the signing of Egypt striker Emad Metab for a club record fee of £1.5million.The 25-year-old has moved to Ashton Gate from Egyptian side El Ahly on a three-year contract.
City's previous highest transfer outlay was £1.2m for Ade Akinbiyi in June 1998.
Metab has a prolific record in Egyptian football having scored 89 goals in 172 appearances during his four seasons at El Ahly. He has represented his country 47 times scoring 22 goals.
