Sturrock disappointed at Halmosi exit

Wed 16 Jul, 04:30 PM

Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock has revealed his 'frustration and disappointment' after winger Peter Halmosi moved to Hull. The 29-year-old Hungary winger finalised his move to the KC Stadium by signing a four-year deal on Wednesday and joined David Norris and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake as recent big names to go through the Home Park exit door.

"The fans will be understandably frustrated and disappointed but I can assure them they'll be no more frustrated and disappointed than I am.

"A manager does not want, over the course of six months, to lose his centre-forward, his playmaking midfielder and his quality left winger leaving the football club.

"But realistically that's the life of being a Plymouth manager. But at the end of the day I came back here knowing it was going to be a hard job and I was under no illusions about that.

"I explain it as the pond with fish; there's pike, trout, salmon, minerals and tadpoles. I think we're a trout - getting eaten by salmon and pike but also eating tadpoles and minerals."

  1. Dayuk, DO PLEASE,Get your thinking straight! You DO NOT get to be third in The Championship by being lucky! Luck plays a part in ALL Football Games and in most things in life as well! Don`t be too sure with your prediction that they will be going straight back down, the Tigers have always been and always will be fighters and will NOT give in without a fight (and I don`t mean struggle, either)! Having said that, it is never easy to digest when your losing good players to other clubs, (Hull can tell some stories of their own) and I do sympathise, but lets NOT get bitter eh! Here wishing your team a good season!

  2. Grossman? Could that be Lloyd Grossman, with the manager talking about his trout being eaten by salmon & pike. Only joking guys.
