Trialists feature as Seagulls win

Wed 16 Jul, 12:45 PM

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Micky Adams ran the rule over two trialists during his side's 4-2 pre-season friendly win over Bognor.Former Arsenal youngster Nicky Nicolau, who left Barnet this summer after turning down a new deal with the club, started at left-back with rookie midfielder Ash Robinson lining up in the centre.

"Ash Robinson is someone I know from the Midlands. He plays for a local club in the town I live in. He was recommended to us and I've had a look at him," said Adams.

"Nicky has a decent background. We're looking for a left-back, he played 45 minutes and we'll make an assessment on both of them shortly."

Kevin McLeod continued his promising pre-season form with a brace while Tommy Elphick and Dean Cox were also on target in a lively friendly encounter.
