Fulham signed striker Bobby Zamora and defender John Pantsil from West Ham for a combined transfer fee of £6.3m.

"I am delighted that we have reached an agreement to enable me to play for Fulham next season," the 27-year-old Zamora said after penning a four-year deal at Craven Cottage.

"I am looking forward to joining the rest of the team this week and preparing for the new campaign."

After scoring 11 goals in 31 appearances two seasons ago, Zamora struggled with injuries in 2007-08 and was only able to make 13 appearances and score one goal.

"Bobby is a talented striker who not only has a desire to score goals but always looks to involve the rest of the team with his intelligent play," Fulham manager Roy Hodgson said.

"I have no doubt that Bobby will play an important part for us and his quality has allowed us to stregthen our attacking options."

Zamora has been at Upton Park since joining the Hammers from Tottenham Hotspur in 2004.

He will serve as a replacement for the injured Diomansy Kamara, who is out for six months.

"This is a new challenge for me and the prospect of working with a coach of Roy Hodgson's calibre was a great opportunity, so I am excited at the prospect of competing for a regular place in the team," Zamora said.

Ghana defender Pantsil, who joined West Ham in August 2006, signed a three-year deal with the Cottagers.

"John has a versatility that will provide us with more defensive options, which is extremely important to the strength and depth we have in the squad," Hodgson said.

  1. Have to wonder who's next through the turnstile out. Lucas Neill has been a failure and only curbishley cant see it, Boa Morte is not the player he was at Fulham and Cole has never made a go of it at any club he's played for, Zamora was commited and although not the best player in the world was West Ham through and through. Curbishley appears to be a stuborn man, his signings even if they are playing badly are kept in the team whilst others are singled out for critisism and dropped after one bad game. we can only hope this attitude do's not take our club back into the championship and that there are signings in the pipeline to take us forward.

  2. I dont think we should have sold Zamora. He had a bit of passion and flair when playing for the Hammers, unlike some of the other muppets...

Sort it out Curbs. You better have good replacements lined up. Or you may as well fu*k off yourself!

  5. Here we go again.West ham are a selling club,we must need to buid another new stand to go with the rio ferdinand stand we got. That will impress them when we are back in the championship. We got rid of solano and keep rigor morte. We sell zamora and keep cole.We are trying to ofload Green Ferdinand McCartney Neil Wrigt.I thought it was bad enough with curbishley playing 4-5-1 all last season.Has he been told he left charlton ages ago.Get rid of curbishley and bring in a west ham man not a puppet for some icelantic geezer who knows nothing about football and even less about the mighty irons.A least in looks like we will be playing sheff utd next year

  7. Is Zamora worth this sum of money? And is Pantsil only good enough to be a sub, if so what is the point of buying him? At least we have made some signings and (so far) no one else has left.

  8. should of not sold zamora! hes a better player than carlton cole, zamora has more skill, better ball control, better at scoring with his head!, and also scores more goals than carlton cole,

Zamora brought us into the premiership with his winning goal against preston....
