Clermont Auvergne have said they are confident of signing World Cup-winning South Africa centre Jaque Fourie.
Fourie is under contract with Super 14 side The Lions until October next year, but Clermont vice-president Jacques Pineau revealed his club are in the process of luring the 26-year-old to France.
"There is an agreement between the club, the player and his agents," Pineau said in L'Equipe. "I think his arrival is going to happen."
Fourie was a key member of the South Africa team that went all the way at the 2007 World Cup in France.
And he scored a crucial late try in the second Test against the British and Irish Lions this summer to clinch the Springboks a series win over the tourists.
