Carl Froch's Super Six super middleweight contest against Arthur Abraham will take place at the neutral Chapiteau de l'Espace Fontvieille in Monaco on October 2.
British boxer Froch refused to face Armenian-German Abraham in Germany after asserting that an unfair hometown decision gave Mikkel Kessler his last fight in the series in Denmark.
That outcome saw the Nottingham fighter lose his WBC belt at the weight and unbeaten record.
Abraham was also previously unbeaten before his disqualification against Andre Dirrell for punching the American while he was down.
Both boxers need a victory in the bout if they are to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

froch and abraham are both hard hitters both beaten jermaine taylor by knockout its just froches speed that gives him a disadvantage even though he has got a good chin but it will be an interesting fight
Have you seen Froch v Kessler though? It was a fantastic fight and had brawl of the year all over it. As I said before, Froch showed some neat footwork and actually fought off the back foot...something he's never done before. And I believe that, forgetting the fact he lost to Kessler (should have been a draw) I do feel Froch just may have shown he's not quite the one-dimensional fighter he's shown too many times before. And because of that, I think Froch's bombs would still pose JC problems. JC has the skill and speed but Froch has something Lacy never did...raw power and a granite chin. I know you all laugh because I actually like Froch (nice chap) but that bias aside, I could see him KO Calzaghe. And before anyone mentions Kessler wasn't KO'd...watch the fight. Twice Kessler was stunned and a truly fit Froch would have finished him off. And don't forget, Froch had his training and travel plans disrupted due to the flight ban (he couldn't spar with Pascal and had to spar with Barker). Froch v Calzaghe would end in a KO win for Froch. I know it defies total logic but my head says Froch would win. But Eubank in his prime would blow them both away because he really was 'Simply The Best'
I got to agree Jack I like calzaghe but he definately was not in their league, i once said that he would have struggled to win british titles again st benn, eubank watson and herol graham around the early nineties
your going to get your head knocked in,froch you are ssssooooooooooooooo cccccccccccccrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaapppppppppppp pppppppppppppppppp
P . . .Got to agree with you to a point, think Joe would have had too much skill for Froch, he wouldn't have stopped him if they fought for two days and nights but I think he'd have shut him out on the cards . . .a peak Benn, Jones jr, Julian Jackson, James Toney,Steve Collins or Mike Macallum would have tore Joe a new ar$e though.
If Froch can get through this fight he will face a bigger challenge against Andre ward and possibly get knocked out for the first time in his career. Froch is not in Nigel Benn, Calzhage or even Eubank's class. He is a good fighter, but not in the elite class and not sure he will be either, given the number of quality fighters in his division. This fight with Abraham will still bring the best out of Froch, but if Froch wants to make a real statement to other Super Middleweight's, he will have to win by a knockout and nothing less will do.
I am not sure Calzhaghe would have him for breakfsst because Froch is neither appertising nor good enough to eat!! Calzhaghe was in a different class and still is. Froch was desperate to fight JC and you can see why JC would not get out of bed for a fight with him. Until Froch beats a decent fighter in style I believe he has a long way to go to convince boxing fans that he is the best inside the ring!!
Andre ward to win the tournament by far the best of the super six.
Froche is a whining ponce. Hope he gets whacked again. Calzaghe would have eaten him for breakfast.
has got fight of the year written all over it
