The five-year-old, having his first run for Jim Goldie, burst through on the far rail under Nicky Mackay and had enough in the tank to repel the challenge of Star Strider by half a length.
"This horse joined us a couple of months ago, we freshened him up and it is great when it comes off like this," said Goldie.
"Nicky has ridden a lot of winners for me in the past and he is someone I always support as he is a good honest, jockey."

The 16-1 chance rattled up a quick-fire hat-trick on the all-weather in the spring but had shown little on three subsequent turf outings.
As is customary for Mark Johnston runners, he was always close to the pace under Greg Fairley and galloped all the way to the line to score by half a length from Royal Intruder.
Greensward got favourite-backers off to the perfect start when getting up in the closing stages of the opening Lloyds TSB Insurance EBF Maiden.
