Yannick Boli, the young Paris St Germain striker, has been loaned to Ligue 1's bottom club Le Havre until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old, who has played just eight minutes for the capital club this season, will have the option to make his move permanent in the summer.

"I am moving to make a name for myself," Boli told Le Parisien. "It is important for me to play and to grow.

"At PSG, this would have been difficult for me. Whenever there was a chance for me to play in the Coupe de la Ligue or the UEFA Cup, the coach did not want me."

Boli, nephew of former France international defender Basile, came through the ranks at the Parc des Princes and was linked with Real Madrid over the summer.

A move to the Spanish giants failed to materialise and despite having been deemed surplus to requirements at PSG this season, he has not ruled out a return to the club he has been with for the past nine years.

He added: "PSG was a club close to my heart but I would have liked more attention. Why should I not return in the future?"

Boli will join his new team-mates in training for the first time on Thursday.

Le Havre are rooted to the bottom of Ligue 1, having lost six of their opening eight fixtures.
