Silence-Lotto rider Philippe Gilbert continued his winning streak in the Gran Piemonte.
The Belgian, who won last weekend's Paris-Tours, finished ahead of Daniel Moreno (Caisse d'Epargne) and Italian Francesco Gavazzi (Lampre-NGC) in a sprint finish at the end of the undulating 184 kilometer route between Genoa and Turin.
The race is the last warm-up before Saturday's season finale, Giro di Lombardia.
Alessandro Donati of Acqua & Sapone escaped early and had almost 10 minutes on the peloton. He was joined by Oleksandr Kvachuk (ISD) but the two were not able to stay ahead as Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni controlled the race and brought the group back with 16km to go.
On the last climb Gilbert attacked with 1.5 km to go and he was followed by Moreno, Gavazzi and Luca Paolini before winning the four-man sprint.
It was Gilbert's sixth win of a 2009 season which has also seen him claim a Giro d'Italia stage win, the overall and a stage victory at the Ster-Elektrotour plus the recent Coppa Sabatini.

with a form like this gilber can have shot at winning il giro di lombardia. The course is pheraps too demanding for his characteristics but hill specialists wait until the very end to make their move he might be able to stay with them and beat them on the line. My favourite for the race is Samuel Sanchez and then off course Cunego!
