Newcastle boss Chris Hughton has concerns over defensive duo Steven Taylor and Fabricio Coloccini ahead of the trip to Nottingham Forest.
Taylor is nursing a hamstring strain and Coloccini has been struggling with a groin problem but both players will be given time to shake off their respective injury problems.
Hughton has been boosted after Marlon Harewood and Jose Enrique were passed fit to face Billy Davies' men after recent knocks.
The Magpies will face a Forest side that have won their last three fixtures and Hughton told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle: "Their early season form wasn't so good but they are in very good form now and will be looking forward to taking us on.
"They have a lot of good options around the pitch and we expect a tough game."

Can we please get Sol Campbell in, he could bring Taylor on leaps and bounds and give us injury cover.
problem is just about every team in this division is raising their game when we come to town and even more so when they come to St James. No disrespect intended but for a lot of these clubs it's a benchmark / highlight game in their calender.
We've got to stay focused and make sure we grind our way back to the PL as it's not been given on a plate
Look at QPR, best team I've seen visit St James this season, play their socks off and go and get stuffed at Swansea the week after
I rest my case
