Euro 2012 qual. - Meet Les Blues
Laurent Blanc's new-look France squad has a few names unfamiliar to English fans so we got an expert to tell us about the latest Les Blues. Eurosport France's Cedric Rouquette guides you through six of the party for Wednesday night's clash at Wembley.
Age: 31
Position: Right-back
Club: Lyon
Reveillere earned the respect and admiration of former coach Raymond Domenech for his determination and professionalism, but don't let that put you off him. Despite only having mustered six caps, Reveillere is adept at finding the balance between marauding forward and defending stoutly. After a distinguished stint with the U21s, the Lyon defender proceeded to be stuck behind Lillian Thuram, Willy Sagnol and Bacary Sagna; but the player Claude Puel rates as the best French full-back should slot in ahead of Arsenal's Sagna at Wembley.
Age: 20
Position: Defender
Club: Paris St Germain
Sakho has long been earmarked as a future stalwart of the France defence despite being in the embryonic stages of his career. The 20-year-old has been touted as the 'new Thuram' for the last two seasons, and his left foot lauded following notable displays for PSG. Sakho became a star in 2007 when Paul Le Guen made him captain against Valenciennes at the age of just 17. The defender has been prone to mistakes at times, but now with Sylvain Armand as his partner, Sakho is pushing hard for a starting berth in competition with Philippe Mexes and Adil Rami.
Yann M'Vila
Age: 20
Position: Midfielder
Club: Rennes
Just 15 months ago, M'Vila was playing in the French fourth division with an amateur side from the city of Rennes; Frederic Antonetti spotted his talent and elevated him to the Ligue 1 side's first team. Two months after his first game with Rennes, Antonetti said: "M'Vila will play in the World Cup". The 20-year-old looked set to fulfil his manager's promise in South Africa, but Domenech omitted him from the final squad. Blanc immediately highlighted the imposing midfielder's talent and has fielded M'Vila in four of the last five games. M'Vila has supreme vision and is willing to make strong challenges to take command of the midfield.
Mathieu Valbuena
Age: 26
Position: Forward
Club: Marseille
At 5'4", Valbuena's diminutive physique has not prevented him from establishing himself as a regular in midfield for Les Blues. The 26-year-old has made the left wing berth his own for Marseille, and his speed and ability on the ball has set him apart as a precocious talent. Released by Bordeaux as a youngster, Valbuena had to resurrect his career at third-division Libourne before being picked up by Marseille. With Eric Gerets as coach, Valbuena flourished. Didier Deschamps took over and initially acquired a distaste for the winger's flashy skills and lack of efficiency, but since then Valbuena has remodelled himself into a more effective, industrious player with as much of a penchant for a long-range strike as his infamous love of playacting.
Age: 26
Position: Forward
Club: Paris St Germain
Hoarau was signed by PSG back in 2008 after a prolific season in the second division with Le Havre, and the lanky forward has continued to improve in Ligue 1. The 26-year-old is regarded as the complete forward given his aerial ability, pace, strength and skill on the ball. Hoarau has been first choice for Blanc since he took over and, after scoring in a stunning performance against Marseille last week, the striker is in good form ahead of the match at Wembley. Hoarau suffered a distinct lack of confidence after two poor performances against Belarus and Luxembourg, but he now appears to be back to his best.
Loic Remy
Age: 23
Position: Forward
Club: Marseille
Remy (pictured) has been compared to Thierry Henry already and, at the age of 23, there is a great deal of pressure on his shoulders. He came to prominence at Lyon but was forced to join Nice with Hatem Ben Arfa and Karim Benzema above him in the pecking order. Remy thrived at Les Aiglons, with his speed and goalscoring instinct marking him out as a player whose star was set to rise. Marseille signed Remy in the summer and, despite a scare over the condition of his heart earlier in the season, the striker has gone from strength to strength. He can play out on the right or straight down the middle, and scored an important goal against Romania last month to increase inevitable speculation of a move to Arsenal.

m'villa is liverpool bound in jan
In France, we think M'Vila will be a Arsenal player, sorry for the others because he's really a fu*cking crack
looks like liverpool are being proactive to clinch m'vila. tbh ive never seen him play but he sounds like the blend of alonso and mascherano in midfield that weve been missing since 2009, poulsen please start packing your bags, f!@*ing spearing is better than you! cant wait to see m'vila in action and with any luck the french influence of commoli can tease him to anfield. ynwa
I really really like Yann M'Vila. If Wenger decided to buy him , I would be extremely happy. The guy is a top player but it is very unlikely that Arsenal will buy him.
