Moore laments 'lucky' point

Sun 16 Dec, 05:30 PM

Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore admitted his team were outplayed and "lucky" to escape with a goalless draw at Port Vale on Saturday. The Valiants bounced back from their humiliating FA Cup defeat at Chasetown with a spirited display which had everything except a winning goal.

Moore said: "We came here to get three points but were lucky to get one. We knew Vale would come out and fight after what happened to them (in the cup) but we never got to grips with it.

"Our passing was non-existent and I am very disappointed with the performance. We came here with the attitude that a win would push us closer to the play-offs, but you wouldn't have thought that if you had watched the game.

"The only positive is we've had a bit of luck and that's something we haven't had for some time."
