1912: The final whistle has gone at Craven Cottage and Newcastle have beaten Fulham 1-0. Meanwhile it's ended 1-1 between Colchester and Norwich in the Championship.

1908: It's a penalty to Newcastle at Craven Cottage after Alan Smith is upended in the area in the closing stages.

Joey Barton makes no mistake from the spot to notch his first goal for the Magpies. Newcastle lead Fulham 1-0 with seconds remaining.

1807: Colchester and Norwich head into the break at Layer Road with the game deadlocked at 0-0.

1805: It's half-time at Craven Cottage where Fulham and Newcastle are still goalless after a drab opening 45 minutes.

1700: Manchester City's win sees them climb into fourth place above Liverpool while Everton's victory now gives them the same number of points as their Merseyside neighbours. However, the Reds have two games in hand over both clubs.

At the top of the SPL, Rangers close to within two points of Celtic after their 2-1 win over Hearts while West Brom finish the days as leaders of the Championship after they beat Charlton and Watford lose at home to Plymouth.

Attention now turns to Craven Cottage where Fulham, who have dropped into the relegation zone for the first time this season, play host to Newcastle.

1657: Middlesbrough make it back-to-back wins with a 1-0 win at Derby while the same scoreline gives Spurs a much-needed victory at Portsmouth.

1656: Everton seal the points at Upton Park as Andy Johnson lobs the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 to the visitors. The full-time whistle goes moments later.

1655: Wigan are confirmed as 5-3 winners over Blackburn.

1654: Controversy as the Stadium of Light as Sunderland have a late winner chalked off by Steve Bennett, who sees a foul by Danny Collins on Villa goalkeeper Scott Carson.

1653: It's game, set and match at Eastlands as Etuhu makes it 4-2 to Manchester City against Bolton.

1652: Shaun Scannell gives Crystal Palace what looks like a late winner at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

1651: Willo Flood puts Dundee United 3-0 up at St Mirren. In the Championship, Leeds grab a last-gasp equaliser against Walsall through Alan Thompson's deflected free-kick.

1650: Emile Mpenza misses a golden chance to put Manchester City 4-2 up against Bolton.

1649: Blackpool have a lifeline at home to Stoke as Shaun Barker cuts Stoke's lead to 3-2.

1647: Jeremie Aliadiere has an effort ruled out at Derby so Middlesbrough remain just one goal in front.

1646: A key goal at the top of the Championship as Plymouth take the lead at Watford through David Norris.

1645: Henri Camara heads over the Everton crossbar from a corner as West Ham look for a last-gasp equaliser.

1644: Big goal in the SPL as McCulloch's second puts Rangers 2-1 up on Hearts. Ipswich go in front at home to Scunthorpe as Tommy Miller makes it 3-2 to the hosts.

1643: Everton twice go close at West Ham with Lee Carsley and Leon Osman almost doubling their lead. St Mirren's Hugh Murray is sent off against Dundee United for a second bookable offence.

1641: Graham Barrett levels for Falkirk at Hibs while Lee Hughes completes his hat-trick to give Oldham a 3-2 lead at Millwall. In the Championship, Simon Whaley puts Preston 3-2 up at Burnley.

1640: It's surely all over at the JJB as Bent nets his hat-trick to make it Wigan 5 Blackburn 3. Mark Hughes is furious as he's convinced it was offside. Hull go 2-0 up on Leicester thanks to Fraizer Campbell.

1639: At last a goal at Fratton Park as Spurs take the lead against Portsmouth through Berbatov.

1638: Yakubu's header is turned away by Rob Green so it remains 1-0 to Everton at Upton Park.

1637: Noel Hunt gives Dundee United a 2-0 lead at St Mirren.

1636: A fifth goal at Eastlands and it goes to the hosts. Martin Petrov gallops down the right, pulls the goal back and Darius Vassell's flick trundles into the far corner of the Bolton net. 3-2 to City.

1633: Leeds go 1-0 down at Walsall as Tommy Mooney strikes for the hosts.

1632: Aston Villa pull level at Sunderland as Shaun Maloney nets with 17 minutes left.

1631: The game could go either way at Eastlands. Anelka almost makes it 3-2 to Bolton before Manchester City's Michael Johnson strikes the Trotters' post.

1628: Derby are starting to press for an equaliser in their home game with Middlesbrough.

1626: It's still deadlocked at Fratton Park and Portsmouth are heading for their third successive 0-0 home draw.

Matthew Kilgallon gives Sheffield United the lead at home to Barnsley while Burnley's McCann, having just equalised, is sent off against Preston for serious foul play.

1620: Bradley Wright-Phillips equalises for Southampton at Coventry while Fuller's second puts Stoke 3-1 up Blackpool.

1618: Marcus Hahnemann pulls off two smart saves to keep Reading level at 1-1 with Birmingham.

1617: The deadlock is broken at Ashton Gate as Marvin Elliott puts Bristol City 1-0 up on Cardiff. The visitors had Steven Thompson sent off after 15 minutes.

1616: Manchester City's equaliser has now gone down as a Lubomir Michalik own goal.

1615: Blackburn's hopes of completing an amazing fightback at Wigan suffer a big blow as Brett Emerton is sent off for a second bookable offence.

1614: Neil Mellor runs through and gives Preston a 2-1 lead at Burnley.

1602: The second half action is under way. Manchester City have brought on Kelvin Etuhu for Fernandes Gelson as they try and fight back from 2-1 down against Bolton.

1456: Rangers return their focus to domestic duties and the visit of Hearts in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League following their midweek Champions League exit.

Manager Walter Smith makes three changes from the side who crashed to a 3-0 defeat to Lyon. Kris Boyd and Steven Naismith are the preferred partnership up front, while Charlie Adam is also drafted into the starting line-up. Sasa Papac is dropped to the bench and Kevin Thomson and Daniel Cousin are both absent from the 18-man squad.

Hearts make two changes following last week's defeat to Motherwell. In come Calum Elliot and Ruben Palazuelos and out go Andrius Ksanavicius and the suspended Michael Stewart.

1454: St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson keeps faith with the same starting 11 that earned a point against Celtic atParkhead last week.

Young goalscorer Stephen McGinn retains his place in the side that bounced back so well from the 5-1 drubbing by Falkirk at Lovegate a fortnight ago.

Dundee United boss Craig Levein drops off-form goalkeeper Grzegorz Szamotulski to the bench as he had hinted earlier in the week. Deputy Euan McLean comes in between the sticks.

The Tangerines are bidding to halt a poor run after two straight defeats and Levein makes three other changes from the team that lost 3-0 to Falkirk last week. Also dropped to the bench are Mark Kerr and Jordan Robertson with Lee Wilkie suspended.

1453: Defender Michael Dawson adds to Tottenham's problems for the clash with Portsmouth at Fratton Park by pulling out through illness, with Gareth Bale also absent through injury and top striker Robbie Keane because of suspension.

Manager Juande Ramos has to draft Didier Zokora into defence alongside Younes Kaboul and also hands Kevin-Prince Boateng only his second Barclays Premier League start in midfield.

Portsmouth are unchanged after six away wins in a row which stretched their unbeaten run to 11 matches.

Pedro Mendes keeps his place in midfield with fit-again Sean Davis on the bench but there is a notable absentee among the substitutes with Kanu back home in Nigeria attending his father's funeral.

1452: Hibernian are forced into a late change in goal after first choice goalkeeper Yves Ma-Kalambay is ruled out of for the clash with Falkirk with a reported back problem.

The giant Belgian's injury gives Andy McNeil his first start of the campaign. Hibs manager John Collins makes a total of four changes to the side that was defeated at Inverness last weekend.

Full-back Thierry Gatheussi is restored to the starting line-up while Rob Jones and Guillaume Beuzelin are also restored.

Falkirk manager John Hughes' side are not immune to injury either as experienced centre-half Kenny Milne is unavailable. Jack Ross is recalled into defence while Tam Scobbie comes in for the suspended Darren Barr.

1447: Kilmarnock have just three fit defenders for the Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Gretna as they look to halt a five-game losing streak.

The injury-ravaged hosts suffer a pre-match blow when defender Tim Clancy is sent home suffering from `flu, and manager Jim Jefferies is forced to field midfielder James Fowler in central defence alongside 20-year-old Ryan O'Leary.

Bottom side Gretna, playing the first match at Rugby Park in their history, have striker Kenny Deuchar back in their line-up following his return from a loan spell with St Johnstone.

1446: Derby boss Paul Jewell makes two changes to his side for his first home game in charge against Middlesbrough at Pride Park.

With Jewell looking for Derby to end a six-game losing run, Tyrone Mears replaces the benched Jay McEveley, while Craig Fagan does not even make the 16 as he makes way for Gary Teale.

Following Middlesbrough's stunning 2-1 victory at home to Arsenal last week, manager Gareth Southgate makes just one change.

After a two-match absence with a broken thumb, Mark Schwarzer takes over from Ross Turnbull in goal.

1445: Sunderland boss Roy Keane turns to Anthony Stokes for the vital Barclays Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

The Irishman, who snatched three points at the death against Derby a fortnight ago, is named alongside Kenwyne Jones in attack as the Black Cats attempt to drag themselves out of the relegation zone.

He is joined by Dwight Yorke and Daryl Murphy with Greg Halford, Grant Leadbitter and the suspended Liam Miller making way.

Villa manager Martin O'Neill keeps faith with the 11 men who started against Portsmouth last weekend as his side look for a fourth successiveleague win on the road.

1443: Star man Elano is once again missing as Manchester City look to maintain their 100 per cent home record at the expense of local rivals Bolton.

The Brazilian playmaker has yet to recover from his hamstring injury so is not part of a team that includes £8.8million striker Rolando Bianchi for the first time since September.

Understandably, Bolton boss Gary Megson intended to stick with the team that hammered Wigan on Sunday but Andy O'Brien was struck down by a sickness bug overnight, so Lubomir Michalik is included.

1442: Full-time at The Hawthorns and West Brom go top of the Championship after beating Charlton 4-2.

1440: Zander Diamond and Karim Touzani return from injury for Aberdeen as two in-form Clydesdale Bank Premier League teams meet at Fir Park.

Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood also recalls skipper Scott Severin and Steve Lovell ahead of Thursday's UEFA Cup group decider against Copenhagen. Lee Mair, Chris Maguire, Richard Foster and Sone Aluko drop to the bench despite starting in Aberdeen's second win in succession last weekend, a 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock.

Motherwell had rejected a plea to postpone the game to prevent the Dons suffering more injuries ahead of their European game. And Mark McGhee names an unchanged side as the Steelmen seek their fifth win on the trot.

1433: Steven Reid starts his first game for almost 16 months as Blackburn boss Mark Hughes rings the changes for the Barclays Premier League clash at Wigan.

Midfielder Reid, who has been eased back following a long injury absence, is one of four new faces, with Robbie Savage also returning after more than two months out injured, and Ryan Nelsen and David Bentley back from suspension.

1425: Danny Gabbidon is left out of the West Ham side with a throat infection as manager Alan Curbishley makes two changes from Wednesday's Carling Cup defeat to Everton.

Gabbidon, whose late mix-up with Robert Green gifted victory to the Toffees, is replaced at the heart of the West Ham defence by fellow Wales international James Collins.

Luis Boa Morte also misses out but Nolberto Solano returns to the side after being being cup-tied in midweek. Everton name an unchanged starting line-up following the 2-1 midweek win while James McFadden returns on the bench.

1421: Charlton are level at West Brom as Luke Steele allows a shot from Izale McLeod to slip under his body. 2-2.

1357: Gera's far-post header gives West Brom a 2-1 lead over Charlton.

1336: Half-time inthe early Championship game and it's all still to play for with West Brom and Charlton level at 1-1.

1330: West Brom hit back with a quick equaliser against Charlton. Zoltan Gera threads a lovely ball through to Bednar who slots the ball into the far corner.

1323: Charlton take the lead at West Brom. Jerome Thomas crosses from the left after a clever check back and Chris Iwelumo heads home.

1302: Almost the first goal at The Hawthorns but Roman Bednar's volley from a right-wing cross strikes the outside of the Charlton post.

1250: Today's League Two clash between Bradford and Rotherham has been called off due to a frozen pitch.

1245: They're under way at The Hawthorns.

1243: The teams come out at The Hawthorns for today's early Championship clash - West Brom v Charlton. Both sides can go top if they take the three points.
