Bees defender's future down to cash

Tue 16 Dec, 06:15 PM

Brentford boss Andy Scott admits that any deal to sign on-loan Alan Bennett will depend on the amount of money made available in January.Defender Bennett, whose loan deal from Reading runs out in January, has played an instrumental role in the Bees' promotion push this season and helped the club build the second best defensive record in the league.

Scott told the Hounslow Guardian: "We've spoken with Reading regarding Alan's situation and we both understand where each party is coming from.

"How we are going to move things forward from a financial point of view is another question altogether. Until that is decided I can't make any decisions with regards to players coming or going."
