Consortium withdraws Blues offer

Tue 16 Dec, 02:15 PM

Worldwide Sports Management have ended their interest in buying Chester City, which has been put up for sale by Stephen Vaughan. The consortium was an interested party in the club, but leader David Jones has withdrawn the offer and slammed the club for not taking it seriously.

In a statement released to the Chester Chronicle, he said: "I have sent an e-mail to Bob Gray at Chester informing both he and Steve Vaughan that Worldwide Sports have decided to withdraw their bid to purchase the club.

"I personally have been disappointed that I have left continued messages for both of them with no response at all in the last week.

"I feel that our bid was never taken seriously by the club, yet feel that we had both the finances and the business expertise to do what was needed to make the club more successful. Unfortunately, it looks like the club's opinion differed.

"I wish all the club's board, management, staff and players and particularly the supporters a very happy Christmas and hope, given my personal affiliation with the club, that they are successful in the future and move forward like they wish to do."
