Cumbrians and Ward agree deal

Tue 16 Dec, 12:45 PM

Carlisle have agreed a settlement with former manager John Ward, who left the club at the start of last month after a poor run of form. The League Managers' Association had claimed that the club were trying to "avoid legal liabilites" by claiming that Ward had left by mutual consent rather than being sacked.

However, a club statement on Tuesday said: "Carlisle United have agreed a settlement with John Ward over his departure from the club. The settlement was concluded by advisors for both the club and for John Ward.

"It was agreed that the financial details would remain confidential.

"The club would like to thank John for his service and wish him well for the future."
