Eagles issue Watson sale warning

Tue 16 Dec, 02:15 PM

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has warned that midfielder Ben Watson will not leave on the cheap in the January transfer window. The Eagles have made no secret of the fact that they need to offload players, with striker Shefki Kuqi the most likely to be shipped out in order to get his wages off the bill and free up money for players to come in.

Warnock told the Croydon Guardian: "Obviously Kuqi is for sale and Ben is available but people seem to think his contract is up in the summer but it's not, it's up in December (2009).

"He is 23 anyway so it will be a tribunal and we will get a fee.

"We are not going to let him go cheaply because we will get a decent fee at tribunal."
