Aston Villa defender Stephen O'Halloran has been ruled out for the season after damaging cruciate ligaments while on loan at Swansea.The defender sustained the injury in Swansea's 1-1 draw with Sheffield United at the weekend following a challenge with Blades striker James Beattie.
A scan has now revealed that he requires surgery, ensuring he will be sidelined for at least six months.
The 21-year-old is the third player to be ruled out for the season for the Swans, with Marcos Painter and Fede Bessone also sidelined.
