Illness cuts short Massa test

Eurosport - Tue, 16 Dec 11:10:00 2008

Felipe Massa's test at the new Portimao circuit in Portugal had to be cut short on Monday after the Ferrari ace felt unwell.

Ferrari did not reveal any more details about Massa's ailment, but it is not thought to be serious.

The 27-year-old completed just 36 laps around the track on the Algarve, which opened this year, and was over a second slower than McLaren test driver Gary Paffett, who logged 63 laps with a best time of 1:31.788.

McLaren spent the day testing a new electrical unit and the 2009-spec front wing, using the controversial KERS system which conserves energy that would otherwise be lost under braking.

The Portimao test continues until Wednesday, with Pedro De La Rosa testing for McLaren and Luca Badoer and Marc Gene for Ferrari.

A separate test took place at the Spanish circuit of Jerez featuring Red Bull, BMW and Williams drivers.

Sebastien Buemi led the way for Red Bull, with his best time of 1:17.704 over a second and a half quicker than Nick Heidfeld in the BMW.

New Zealand's Brendon Hartley carried out his first Red Bull testing, having been brought in following Mark Webber's broken leg.

The British F3 International Series driver was third fastest of five drivers.

  9. clispyduck,
Can you be clear on a point here? In your earlier post are you saying that the FIA indirectly helped Massa by penalizing Hamilton specifically at Monza or are you referring to some of the debatable decisions throughout the season? If it is the first option then i do not remember Hamilton being punished, fairly or unfairly, at Monza

  11. Arshad: Once again you are guilty of not reading posts before reacting in a childish manner. The FIA didn't directly help Massa at Monza and I never said they did BUT they did (once again) penalise Hamilton. What's with you and your fellow Ferrari fans? Can you not read as well as write? That mixed with your madmen followers with multiple personalities make you a really pathetic bunch.
Stop trying to score cheap points when you have no possible chance of winning. There's no FIA to help you in here!

your continuous copying and pasting, the same comments, every day, on every story. Is it clear sign, of some sort of mental illness. It's time to let go, and move on.
All you all doing now, is making a Ferrari fan, look stupid. Your obsession, with Hamilton, McLaren and Glock, is showing the characteristics of a psychiatric disorder.

  16. Hey clispyduck, how did the FIA help Massa in Monza? If I remember correctly Hamilton the new Rain Master couldn't put his car into Q1 bcoz the track was wet. Massa got into Q1 bcoz of his own ability
