Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale has confirmed the club are interested in bringing Rob Earnshaw back to Ninian Park. The Wales international left the Bluebirds to join West Brom in August 2004 before stints with Norwich and now his current employers Derby.
The 26-year-old admitted earlier in the week he would be open to a return but Rams boss Paul Jewell has insisted Earnshaw will not be leaving Pride Park on loan.
Ridsdale revealed the Championship side have only registered their interest in the player at this stage.
"We made an enquiry, but that's all," Ridsdale told the South Wales Echo. "We must see how things develop and go from there."
