Marshall delay frustrates Mandaric

Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric is frustrated the club have so far been unable to bring Ben Marshall back to Hillsborough.

Stoke winger Marshall recently returned to his parent club after a six-month loan spell with Wednesday, but despite being out of contract with the Potters in the summer, the 20-year-old's future is still unresolved.

Mandaric confirmed negotiations are on-going between the two clubs and told the Sheffield Star: "Our preference is to have Ben back because he has contributed quite a bit and gelled with the team."

He added: "I would like to think we will get him back, but it is in the hands of his club. We are not in control of the situation.

"Gary [Megson] has been properly supported financially on every player that he has wanted so far and it will be no different with Ben or someone else."

Mandaric added manager Megson is keen to add two other new players to his squad during the transfer window.
