Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson hailed the performance of super-sub Liam Hatch, who ignited their promotion assault at Barnet's expense.Ferguson splashed out £150,000 to land Hatch in the transfer window from the Underhill club and he repaid the first chunk of investment when he marked his arrival by settling the contest with a deflected blast from long range.
Ferguson said: "Any team that has won away at MK Dons and Hereford has to be taken seriously and I always knew it would be a tough test.
"It was a day for patience but I always knew I would need to send Liam on at some point.
"We went much more direct with him out there, he won virtually every header and produced a great goal. I know he got a bit of luck with the deflection but the shot was on target.
"And this is why we brought him to the club - to give us another dimension in attack which we will need in some tough games that lie ahead."
