Northampton manager Stuart Gray believes his side can still mount a play-off challenge following their 4-0 victory over Gillingham. Two goals from Adebayo Akinfenwa and efforts from Jason Crowe and substitute Giles Coke gave the Cobblers their biggest win of the season.
After a run of only one defeat in eight matches, Gray said: "I am a great believer in looking upwards and if we can average four points from every two games between now and the end of the season who knows what it will bring.
"I am concerned at the number of goals we have conceded in games in the last few minutes but the most important thing here at the moment is the team spirit being so strong and the two new lads (Gabor Gyepes and Akinfenwa) have fitted in well with that."
On the match, Gray added: "I just told the players to keep moving the ball forward and not to make it too complicated. I have been involved with games which we have dominated and you don't always get your rewards."
