Holloway asks for the same again

Sun 17 Feb, 12:30 PM

Ian Holloway hailed Leicester's biggest win of the season and challenged his side to produce the same again in next week's derby at Coventry. The Foxes eased their plight at the foot of the Championship with a 4-0 defeat of Norwich, which moves them above Coventry.

And Holloway said: "At last the players had a day they can enjoy but what's most important is what happens next week when we have a massive game against Coventry.

"I'll throw down the gauntlet and challenge the players to go there and do the same."

Goals by Iain Hume, Steve Howard, Dudley Campbell and Steve Clemence gave Leicester their biggest win of the season and put an end to Norwich's 13-match unbeaten run.

Holloway afterwards demanded more consistency from his side, saying: "When we score first we are not a bad team but when we concede first we are pigging awful and that's got to change.

"We've got some fantastic players but at the moment they are not very consistent - and that has to change."

Norwich manager Glenn Roeder urged his side to put behind them the disappointment of seeing their unbeaten run shudder to a halt.

He explained: "It's very painful, it's been a long time since we've been beaten and the manner we have been beaten today has been very painful.

"But the players are human and I suppose you have to allow them an off day.

"But we have to be men about this, take it on the chin and not cry like little boys."

Roeder was not critical of Darel Russell's straight red card, for a two-footed tackle on the home side's Richard Stearman.

He said: "I have no complaints about the sending-off, it was a nasty tackle.

"The boy went for the ball, but he missed it by a wide margin and he had to go."
