Ifill in line for starting berth

Sun 17 Feb, 02:45 PM

Injury-hit winger Paul Ifill could return to the Crystal Palace starting XI for the visit to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City on Monday. The former Sheffield United and Millwall player was an unused substitute during the midweek defeat to Ipswich at Selhurst Park after recovering from back and hamstring problems, but could be drafted in as Neil Warnock looks to end a run of four games without a win.

Midfielder Mark Kennedy is still on the comeback trail following an Achilles problem, while Tony Craig is continuing his recovery from a shoulder operation.

Strike Dougie Freedman has called on his team-mates to revert to basics if they are to maintain their push for promotion to the Premier League.

He told the club's official website: "We've got a good manger who knows better than anyone - he has won six promotions - that to stand any chance of going up we need to get back to basics.

"That's what he's told the lads in the dressing room. He has told us what he expects and doesn't expect so we have to do our own jobs, work hard for each other and he will take any sort of blame that comes his way."
