Lincoln manager Peter Jackson was thrilled as his side recorded a fifth consecutive victory by beating Macclesfield 3-1 at Sincil Bank. The Imps have eased away from the relegation mire in recent weeks and Jackson is determined for them to continue their good form.

He said: "I was delighted with the players, I wanted to keep the run going.

"In the first half we were as poor as we have been for a while but in the second half we showed great character. With better finishing we could have won by a few more.

"In the first half it felt like an end of season game, like the players had just got off the plane from Spain.

"I thought it could have been one of those days where we created a lot of chances and didn't score, but it wasn't."
