Real Madrid's scouting chief has confirmed the Spanish giants are monitoring the progress of Hibernian striker Steven Fletcher. The Scotland Under-21 international was linked with a move to Real last week amid reports the Spanish champions had put Fletcher on a list of promising youngsters to scout.
Fletcher was watched by Real during the 4-2 SPL win over Gretna on Wednesday, when the 20-year-old plundered a hat-trick.
Speaking after the match, Fletcher laughed off the rumours of a possible move to Real, only for the Primera Liga leaders to now acknowledge an interest.
Hibs have been asked to provide Real with a DVD of every match Fletcher has played in this season, with the forward having scored 12 goals in 22 games.
Real's scouting chief Julen Lopetegui told the Sunday Mail: "This is normal protocol for us when we're assessing a young player like Fletcher."
Back in December, Fletcher pledged his future to the SPL club when he signed a contract through to 2013 at Easter Road.
