Tyson injury takes shine off win

Sun 17 Feb, 02:45 PM

Manager Colin Calderwood's delight at his Nottingham Forest side's 1-0 win over Swindon was dampened by an injury to goalscorer Nathan Tyson. The former Wycombe man's ninth goal of the season sent Forest back into third spot in the League One table.

But the striker's joy at bagging the only goal of the game against Swindon was cut short after he limped out of the contest at The City Ground.

Tyson's 50th-minute strike settled matters, but his afternoon was cut short 16 minutes from time by a hamstring problem.

"Nathan is one of those players who tends to go on goalscoring runs and we hoped that one would prove to be the first of many," said Calderwood. "It looks as though he has got a hamstring strain and will be out for a minimum of two to three weeks.

"It's disappointing because we need all hands to the pump - although we're fortunate that Junior Agogo is back from the African Nations Cup and Grant Holt will be available to face Carlisle on Tuesday after suspension."
