Abbott hopeful over Wright link

Mon 17 Mar, 06:15 PM

Darlington's Pawel Abbott is hoping he can build a formidable strike partnership with Tommy Wright after overcoming his injury woes. The former Huddersfield frontman bagged a brace in Saturday's comeback 3-2 victory over Grimsby as he started upfront with Wright, who fired the winner, for the first time since the Quakers 3-0 victory over Morecambe back in January following a knee injury.

He told the Northern Echo: "The season started off with me and Tommy, we were just getting a partnership together, but then with my injuries I was in and out of the team.

"It's hard to form any kind of partnership when you don't know when you're playing or who your strike partner is going to be.

"Hopefully we're back to our best and it would be nice to get a few more games with Tommy."
