Burnley boss Owen Coyle insists Saturday's derby clash at Preston represents the perfect opportunity to return to winning ways. The Clarets slumped to an error-ridden 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Wolves last weekend to lose vital ground in the race for a play-off spot.
But a trip to Deepdale to face Lancashire rivals Preston offers Coyle's men the chance to reaffirm their promotion pedigree.
"We are still only three points off the play-offs so we will lick our wounds and regroup," said Coyle.
"A derby with Preston probably couldn't be a better game.
"We have an opportunity to address what has happened against Wolves and if we can stop gifting goals we could still have a terrific end to the season."
Meanwhile, Coyle insists fan power can play a key role in his side's promotion bid.
"The fans have already played a big part and I've got nothing but praise for the fans, both home and away," added Coyle.
"We want encouragement and vocal support, and the fans have been great.
"All I would say to them is keep that going, keep giving that level of support and the players will give you everything they've got."
