Demerit: No blame for Henderson

Mon 17 Mar, 11:45 AM

Watford captain Jay DeMerit has refused to blame Darius Henderson after the striker missed a penalty in Saturday's goalless draw with Stoke.DeMerit is determined to remain positive, despite his side dropping four points in their last two games against Bristol City and the Potters.

He said: "The spirit was there for everyone to see. We had 10 men for over an hour against Stoke but we were the only side who looked like scoring.

"Darius is upset about the penalty miss but it takes guts to step up there and take one and nobody is blaming him.

"We have dropped four points this week but another way of looking at it is that we have played two of the top three and not conceded a goal.

"That is pleasing but we have to score goals to win games. We have two more massive games now against Plymouth and Hull and the race is still on for everyone."
