Gills boss reveals Crofts hope

Mon 17 Mar, 05:30 PM

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson admits he will recall captain Andrew Crofts from international duty with Wales if he can find a way.Crofts has been called up to John Toshack's latest squad for the friendly with Luxembourg on Wednesday, March 26, meaning the midfielder will miss his club's clash with basement side Port Vale on Monday, March 24.

But with the fourth-from-bottom Gills staring the prospect of relegation in the face following four successive defeats, Stimson believes their trip to Vale Park holds preference over the international friendly.

He told Kent News: "We can't have total control over the situation but I'm sure if we needed him for our cause - which is bigger than Wales' - then I think people could get together and have a chat and come up with a sensible answer".
