West Brom striker Craig Beattie has returned from his loan spell at Preston to receive treatment on his hamstring injury.The 24-year-old joined North End earlier this month but suffered the injury just 38 minutes into his debut at Leicester and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

"Beattie's injury dictates he won't play in the remaining league fixtures, so he is back here rehabilitating and having his injury looked after," said Albion manager Tony Mowbray.

"It is unfortunate for Craig that he has gone out to get some game time and got injured.

"That happens. It is part and parcel of football and is the gamble for any club when you let players out on loan."
