McCormack: We must be ready

Mon 17 Mar, 01:15 PM

Southend midfielder Alan McCormack has labelled the Shrimpers' promotion clash with leaders Swansea as their "biggest game of the season".The 24-year-old fired a dramatic late winner to secure a 2-1 victory at Huddersfield on Saturday which lifted the Shrimpers up to fifth in League One.

But despite hosting the stuttering Swans on the back of a six-match unbeaten run, McCormack insists his side are remaining realistic in their push for promotion.

He told the club's official website: "We can't afford to get carried away and believe that we are going to win every game.

"Friday is another big one, we have to prepare better than we have ever done before, as it is the biggest game of the season."
