Jeff Burton won a crash-filled Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway, taking over from Denny Hamlin in a green-white-chequered finish to take Richard Childress Racing to Victory Lane for the first time this season.
Following Burton was RCR teammate Kevin Harvick, who was involved in controversy in the late laps when he put Tony Stewart into the wall while trying to get into second place with just a few laps remaining. Clint Bowyer completed a wonderful day for Richard Childress Racing by finishing third.
Greg Biffle continued his recent renaissance with a fourth-placed finish, while Dale Earnhardt Jr continued to be the pick of the Hendrick Motorsports cars by stopping in fifth.
Hamlin - who led the race with just two laps to go - only finished sixth, while Kasey Kahne, Aric Almirola, David Gilliland and Matt Kenseth rounded out the top ten.
Scottish driver Dario Franchitti's outing at Bristol was not a good one. On lap 189 he was involved in a crash which also took Ryan Newman, Paul Menard, Bobby Labonte, Jamie McMurray and Ken Schrader as its victims. And then on lap 278 he was put into a wall by Paul Menard.
Kyle Busch's day was probably as infuriating as his Scottish counterpart when he span with around 200 laps to go.
