Ajax full-back Urby Emanuelson has revealed he will stay with the Eredivisie club next season despite the reported interest of a number of European clubs.

English outfit Tottenham and Italian title challengers Roma were thought to be vying to secure the services of the 21-year-old Holland international during the January transfer window but Ajax refused to listen to offers.

Emanuelson revealed to Sportweek magazine that he is enjoying his football now that the speculation over his future has subsided, and confirmed he will be part of the Ajax squad when Marco van Basten takes over as coach from Adrie Koster in the summer.

He said: "I am in a difficult season, [but] things have been going a bit better in the last few weeks.

"This summer is not the time to make the step. Next season I will play at Ajax.

"I have a contract until the summer of 2011, so I have all the time in the world."

Ajax put themselves back in the title race on Sunday with a

4-1 win against Willem II that saw them move to within four points of leaders PSV Eindhoven, who drew 1-1 at Roda JC.
