Porto Dismiss Bosingwa Talk

Mon 17 Mar, 01:09 PM

Porto have rejected reports that Manchester United have made a move for defender Jose Bosingwa.

United have been strongly linked with a summer move for the highly-rated full-back as they search for a long-term replacement for Gary Neville.

The 25-year-old has refused to rule out a move away from Estadio do Dragao, but Porto president Pinto da Costa insists they have had no offer from United for Bosingwa.

Da Costa revealed Aston Villa had a bid rebuffed for Bosingwa last year and Porto are keen to keep hold of the defender.

"We have not had a proposal [from Manchester United]," Da Costa told O Jogo.

"In the past year, Aston Villa revealed themselves to be an interested party, but we did not accept the proposal.

"He is another of the players we intend to keep."
