Former world champion Marcus Grönholm, who retired after last year's WRC campaign, is now considering a comeback in Rallycross.

A couple of weeks ago Grönholm tested in the car of last year's European Rallycross Championship third-place finisher Andreas Eriksson.

"I was there two weeks ago and drove the car, but I haven't made up my mind yet," Grönholm told SVT about his Rallycross ambitions.

Though Grönholm cited a desire to to spend more time with his family as a reason for his retirement, a spot in the European Championship would mean fewer days on the road than with WRC.

"If he were to race at all there would be no travelling whatsoever," former world champion and Eurosport commentator Björn Waldegård told eurosport.se. "This is something he wants to do, it's not about money."

Waldegård does not think that Grönholm would have any problems adapting to Rallycross if he chose to compete.

"Marcus has got a lot of experience and I am sure that he would make it.

"The only new thing for him would be to race several opponents at the same time. But that won't be a problem, his talent is undisputed.

"He is well known and he will get a lot of attention if he decides to race".
