AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani believes that the club's injury setbacks have cost them the chance of challenging for the Serie A title.

Goalkeeper Christian Abbiati is the latest name on the injury list after a knee problem ruled him out for the season.

Other Milan players hit by injury include Brazilian playmaker Kaka, midfielder Gennaro Gattuso and defender Kakha Kaladze.

"This has been a terrible year for us in terms of injuries to our players," said Galliani.

"I continue to think that, without these numerous injuries this year, we would have been Scudetto candidates.

"Now we must continue to work in order to end the season in the best possible way."

Milan are currently third in Serie A, 12 points adrift of leaders Internazionale and five behind second-placed Juventus.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti recently admitted that catching Juve is the best his side can hope for over the remaining 10 matches.

  1. errm your worng, Juve have had their fair share of injuries and had their top scorer out all season and Inters injuries are destroying their defence so you cant say anything but that your club aint living up to expectations

  2. A.C Milan says about injuries. My friend below, Mr.Forza Ferrari is saying very good things between Juventus F.C and A.C Milan. Also i want say that Juve played in Champions League and passed to the second round playing with better teams like Real Madrid and Chelsea. Insted of that Milan played in UEFA against Verder Bremen and disquilified!!

  3. On a seperate note, Berlusconi & Galliani should be removed from football (and Italy). Until this is done our football structure will not move forward. We need these idiots removed from power and get some people with brains to run our football. We need to get our stadiums owned by the teams, re-design the stadiums so the fans are nearer to the pitch, have better organised staff who don't let dumb ultras in, proper security checks and try and get the stadiums full of fans again. Next we need to strip Berlusconi of his power over TV rights and make more competition and create a better Italian football package to be viewed worldwide like Premiership is, this is why the EPL is the most watched because its the most accessible and not neccesarilly because its better quality. When this is all done we may have a chance to return to the glory days and dominant European football instead of falling behind and becoming a laughing stock. However, having said that at least we are the World Champions for another 16 months.

  4. Forza, I think you need to look at your own team for questionable calls for Juvescumbags too. Inter may have had one or two I grant you, but Juve have had far more this season and many seasons before (hence the cheating). We have also had lots of injuries and questionable suspensions using after the match TV evidence because hiprocrits have complained where as Juve and Milan incidents went unpunished.
think yourselves lucky to still be in Serie A after one season, if it were Inter caught cheating for many years I would expect us to be stripped of all titles and 5 years demotion which would be a fair decision in my opinion, Juve got off very very lightly.
