Boss: Play-offs far from certain

Thu 17 Apr, 12:15 PM

Manager Lee Richardson has acknowledged that Chesterfield may not make the League Two play-offs even if they win their remaining three matches. The Spireites are five points adrift of seventh-placed Wycombe and host the team directly above Wanderers - Darlington - on Saturday knowing that failure to emerge with all three points would all-but end the club's promotion hopes.

Richardson said: "We've got three games to go and we know we've realistically got to win them all to give ourselves a chance. Although, even that may not be enough.

"Darlington is another massive game. We need to win that and keep winning and hope the others drop points. At this stage, results that you are not expecting can happen."
