Bradford City defender Matthew Clarke has accepted a new "take-it-or-leave-it" contract to remain at Valley Parade for another year. The 27-year-old central defender has been plagued by injuries since arriving at Valley Parade from Darlington two years ago.

Last season Clarke made only 12 appearances for the Bantams, but has made 18 starts for Stuart McCall's side this time around.

The Leeds-born centre-half is currently out with a knee problem and has been sidelined since mid-February.

Clarke is the third player at Bradford to accept a drop in wages, with both Peter Thorne and Paul Heckingbottom already accepting reduced terms.
