Gills defender raring to go

Thu 17 Apr, 03:30 PM

Gillingham defender John Nutter has declared himself fit and raring to help the club's battle to beat relegation from League One.A hamstring injury has forced the 25-year-old to miss the last two games as the Gills have slipped further into relegation trouble.

But Nutter is hopeful of returning to boss Mark Stimson's side at Bristol Rovers this weekend, and is determined to make a big impression.

"I should be in contention this weekend," Nutter told the Medway Messenger.

"I've been doing the normal stuff like massages and strengthening work to get fit and hopefully it should be better now.

"If I'm selected I'll be delighted to get back into the side and I'll do my best if I play and give everything. It's been awfully hard watching the boys and I've wanted to be out there."
