Peter Reid has announced a 36-man provisional England 'Legends' squad to face Scotland in the Alan Ball Memorial Cup at Southampton on May 15.Reid, who is in charge of the 'Legends', will whittle the list down to 18 names for the St Mary's clash being played in honour of his fellow former Southampton and England midfielder Ball, who died in April last year aged 61.
"It is fitting that the Alan Ball Memorial Cup is played at Southampton, a club at which Alan enjoyed a fantastic rapport with the fans both as a player and a manager," said Reid.
Former Saints Alan Shearer, Graeme Le Saux, Tim Flowers, Jamie Redknapp and Dennis Wise are among the initial squad members along with the likes of Bryan Robson, Ray Wilkins, Teddy Sheringham, Chris Waddle and England Under-21 manager Stuart Pearce.
