Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood insists he will give his promotion-winning squad a chance to prove themselves in the Championship.Calderwood has already had a bid accepted for Derby striker Rob Earnshaw and is reportedly interested in Northampton goalkeeper Mark Bunn, but he insists the nucleus of the squad which won promotion will be given their opportunity to shine.

He told the club's official website: "We'll give these players the chance to become Championship players.

"We'll take the winning habit and the fact this group of players have proved they are winners and will add a bit more around the edges.

"The signings that we do make have got to have an important impact on what we do next season."
