Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson is already planning for next season by snapping up striker Anthony Hindmarch and midfielder Paul Murray.Hindmarch, who came through the ranks at Carlisle, failed to start a game and made just seven appearances as a substitute for John Ward's side this season.

Both he and Murray, who arrives after his one year deal with SPL side Gretna expired at the end of the season, have worked with Simpson during his time at the Cumbrians and the Town boss is confident the blend of youth and experience will benefit his side next season.

"It's good to have two new players on board. I have both worked with them before and they will bring a lot to the squad for different reasons," he told Shrewsbury's official website.

"Stephen is a gamble but one that I think is worth taking because I know the type of football he can produce, and Paul is a midfielder who has had a good career.

"This season he had a good strong season where he played over 30 games for Gretna in the SPL. It was a really tough season for that football club but Paul really showed that he can play."
