Henry Cecil sent runners around the country on another big weekend but struck first at his local track with an impressive victory by Rattan at Newmarket.
Cecil's supporters got stuck into the chestnut, second on all three starts as a juvenile, to send him off the 5-2 favourite for the Sign-Up Bonus@betinternet.com Maiden Stakes.
Rattan only needed a quick shake of the reins from Tom Queally to pull five lengths clear of Hawk Island.
"It was his first run of the season and he'd had a couple of minor setbacks - nothing serious though," explained Cecil's assistant Mike Marshall.
"It was good to see him do it like that and I'd say he'll improve."
Fondled (4-1) built on a progressive season as a three-year-old by nipping up the far rail to collect the Best Odds Guaranteed At betinternet.com Handicap.
The only filly in the field has not yet learned to break cleanly from the stalls but when Kerrin McEvoy found a gap, she came with a strong run and picked off Ace Of Hearts to score by a length and a quarter.
Jacko Fanshawe, wife of trainer James, said: "She's from the family of Cesare and I'd say some black type would be the ultimate aim.
"But she used to be a bit quirky and it's important to keep the right side of her."
Enroller caught a tartar in All The Aces at Leicester on his previous run but made amends in good style in the betinternet.com Handicap.
Willie Muir's colt, sent off the 13-8 favourite, is well thought of and was sent in front with a couple of furlongs to run by pilot Daragh O'Donohoe.
Market rival Fiulin made a determined case for himself but was readily held off by Enroller despite the winning margin of just a neck.
Muir's representative Jonathan Jannaway said: "He's a good horse and was probably unlucky not to win last time, but the winner ran very well behind Doctor Fremantle at Chester and has gone up in the weights.
"He could go for the mile-and-a-half handicap at Ascot, but doesn't want the ground much faster than good."
